It is important to understand how we work in order to understand how we can make our claims of always installing safely and properly. We simply follow the current building regulations in every single instance. We don’t pick and choose where and when it’s convenient to follow the rules. So it’s very simple for us to install your appliance safely and correctly every time. That’s why we also include the required paperwork you’ll require if you ever claim for insurance or sale of your property.
In order to comply with Current Building Regulations it may sometimes be necessary to carry out upgrades to your property. One example of this could be that your existing gas hob was installed with a flexible gas hose. We may not be able to fit the new hob unless the hose is replaced with fixed gas pipe work with an operational isolation valve. Another example is a free standing cooker which must have an anti tip device fitted even if the old cooker did not.
It is the customer’s responsibility to inform us at the time of initial contact that the appliance being installed is not exactly like-for-like. We cannot be held resposible for incorrect information provided. If you require gas or electrical supplies modified or re-located please ring us for a site survey. If you don’t ask for a survey it will be assumed that the appliance you have purchased is suitable for the location you want it installed to and you may be billed for a call out fee. In the case of all gas cookers your gas point must be located at the site that you want your cooker installed. In the case of electric cookers or dual fuel appliances a properly rated electric point must be located at the site that you want the appliance installed.
Please note that it is the purchaser’s responsibility to make sure that the cooker is suitable for the environment and that it is unpacked and ready for installation. We reserve the right to invoice for our time if the purchased items cannot be installed due to damage or fault to the appliance, the wrong appliance type has been purchased, the item cannot be safely fit (under current building regulation) or any other reason beyond our control.
